Having a good understanding of the most common manufacturing techniques allows for products to be designed with optimised durability, economy and cosmetic appearances.

 

Experience developing proof of principal prototypes into manufacturable parts using CAD software (SolidWorks) reduces the overall development time of a project.

To take a design through to production requires a logical and meticulous approach, with every aspect of the product needing to be defined and controlled. This includes testing, quality control, assembly instructions, packaging, barcoding and palletisation.

 

Having worked as an in-house designer for an international medical equipment supplier and also for a high-end consumer electronics manufacturer, product lifecycle management and document revision control are second nature.
